Buffer Systems - Intermediate Bottle Storage System (IBSS 2.0)

For companies with in-house production and filling of plastic bottles, AUTEFA Solutions offers a dynamic buffer system for aligned PET and HDPE bottles and containers. The IBSS 2.0 system buffers bottles and containers between the blow molder, palletizer or filler.

After production, the bottles or containers are decoupled from the filling stream, placed in trays, and automatically stacked. The full stacks of trays are stored in a custom-dimensioned storage area and can be delivered to the filler at the time the required product is needed.

The modular design of the patented Tray Loader System allows buffer times from a few minutes to several days with a comparable small storage footprint. The IBSS 2.0 compensates differences in production times, efficiencies and capacities between the blow molder and filler. This provides customers with unprecedented flexibility in production sequences. Light and fragile bottles are guided and filled without any loss of quality, and the high quality of the bottles is maintained. By storing the individual layers of bottles in trays, the typical top load of bagged layers of bottles, and thus the individual load on the bottle, is avoided. As a result, the bottles can be produced as lightweight versions, with the benefit of using less material. This helps the environment and can result in significant cost savings in bottle production.
