Assessment procedures

Our assessment process includes 5 steps. Project definition and inspections of machines as well as the installation of sensors and test equipment on site, measurements during production and data analysis. You receive a final report with pre-engineering proposals.

Step 1: project definition

Thermobonding ovens and dryers are used in Airlay, Airlaid, Wetlaid and Spunlace processes as well as in chemical web bonding. In an initial discussion, we define the target specifications. We see that an increase in production capacity and a reduction in energy consumption are among the main concerns of our customers. We collect information on product specifications and product characteristics, as well as on the individual process steps. We also need information on the installed capacity of each machine.  In order to optimise your existing processes, we work closely with your team during the project definition.

Step 2: installation of measuring equipment

We have extensive equipment consisting of a wide variety of sensors and measuring devices. We install sensors to measure temperature, material flow, humidity and pressure on your ovens or dryers. To do this, the machines must be at a standstill and in a cooled-down state.

Step 3: on-site measurements

We take our time in your production plant. We carry out measurements for each main product while the plant is in operation. We will adjust the machine settings together with the operator team to be able to directly log the influence on production and quality. All measured data will be recorded simultaneously with data loggers to allow a quick evaluation of the measured values.

Step 4: data analysis

We now analyse all measurement results and create suggestions that quickly pay for themselves. For this purpose, we create correlation matrices of machine settings, product qualities, product specifications as well as other process parameters that need to be included in the evaluations. You receive a summary of the most important measures to improve your production with an indication of the expected results.

Step 5: Report and pre-engineering

At the end of the assessment, we develop a solution tailored to your production and your products. You will receive modification proposals or diagrams from us as a basis for a machine modification or as an extension of the existing machine. All modification proposals are handed over to you in the form of sketches. As a basis for determining warranty data, we will draw up a list with the before/after comparative data. You will also receive a quotation for conversions, modifications and extensions with a payback calculation.
